Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

On behalf of everyone at MKC we would like to thank all of our suppliers and customers for your continued support in 2015.

After the economic downturn of recent years, it’s fair to say that the UK electronics manufacturing industry is slowly improving and as we celebrate 20 years of supplying HMI solutions, we at MKC are optimistic that the future remains positive.

We sincerely hope you have a wonderful holiday and will look forward to working with you in 2016!

Please do not forget we close on Monday 21st December 2015 and will re-open on Monday 4th January 2016.

A Message From Our Technical Director – Steve Street

A message from our Technical Director – Steve Street

As some of you know I was recently diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease or ALS as it is otherwise known.

This was a big shock for my family and I but the Motor Neurone Disease Association swung into action within days offering us support and guidance just when we needed it most and I know they will continue to do so as the disease progresses. In addition to offering personal support to those with MND they also help fund vital research since as yet there is no cure for this disease.

To raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, my daughter Sophie has taken the opportunity of a lifetime to join the Jubilee Sailing Trust’s ship the Tenacious. This involves a 55 day journey of 4500 nautical mile from Southampton to Antigua via The Canaries and Cape Verde between 5th November and 30th December 2015.

She is asking people to sponsor her on her voyage and complete 2 challenges to raise much needed funds for this worthy cause.

One of them is to perform various duties around the ship including scrubbing the decks alongside her 80 or so shipmates, cooking meals, washing up and cleaning the ‘Heads’ (loos) – yuk!

The other is to climb one of the three masts (123ft!), right onto the button on the very top.

Please click on the links below to read her stories and motivations.

Anything you feel you can donate will be most appreciated. If you can, please share these links with your own friends, family and colleagues and help Sophie reach her goals.

You can also find her challenges set up on Facebook. Just search for –

’Sophie Street Oxford Brooks University’ and her challenges will pop up together with the donation button.

Donating through ‘JustGiving’ is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with’ JustGiving’ – they will never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate they will send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Sophie will be keeping her two ‘JustGiving’ pages updated with reports and photos of her progress as Internet connections permit at their island stopovers.

You can also follow the ship’s progress by logging on to http://jst.org.uk/track-our-ships/ and clicking on Tenacious.

The crew take turns daily to write a blog of the day’s events so you get a flavour of their daily routines. The blog page comes up under the ‘News’ menu button.

Thank you for taking the time to read my e mail and I wish you all good health and although it is a bit early a Happy Christmas.

Best regards,

Steve Street
